There are three powerful stories that show us God's Awesome Power.

The earth is a giant space ship hurtling through space at the rate of nearly 67,000 miles per hour.  This speed allows it to completely orbit the Sun at a precise distance so that it will neither burn up or turn into a giant ice cube.  The Sun is 93,000,000 miles away and the earth orbits it every 365.25 days.  At this speed the earth travels 587,322,000 miles each year while rotating at the rate of 1,000+ miles per hour.  While the earth is orbiting the Sun, the Sun is orbiting the Milky Way galaxy at the rate of some 500,000 miles per hour.  It has constantly done this since the creation.  We, on earth, carry on our daily activities totally oblivious to all of this speed and movement.

If God set this fantastic solar system in movement (we know He did) do you think He has the power to solve your problems?

List all of your problems in random order on a sheet of paper.  Circle the most serious problem.  Let go and let God.

Eph. 3:20, 21

According to some scholars, 45,000 animals would have fit on the ark.  That's beyond incredible!  When God told Noah to gather up the animals, he could have easily been overwhelmed by the task.  Would he and his sons have to spend years finding and gathering all these animals?  That would have been an overwhelming challenge in itself.  Think of the harnesses, pens and food to house them not only while the ark was being built, but also while they were all confined to the ark during the flood.  If Noah had sat down to make a "to do" list, he'd never have gotten the ark built in the first place.

Noah didn't rely on himself.  He had been given an assignment by God and he trusted Him with the details.  He was obedient and left the rest to God. Since God created all creatures it was certainly within His power to control them.  When it came time to put the animals in the ark, all Noah had to do was open the door and get out of the way.  God took care of the rest.

In our own lives, it's easy to get bogged down in the details.  If we allow it to happen, the forest disappears because we're too busy worrying about the trees.  What we forget is that God is much more detail oriented than we ever thought of being.  Just look at any thing in His creation.  He can handle the most minute of details without losing His focus.

If you're letting details prevent you from accomplishing what God has given you to do, remember Noah.  If you're letting details that you can't control prevent you from correcting what you can, attitude, priorities, responsibilities, and relationships, remember Noah.  Let God handle the details.

For numbers sake, assume 75% of the fighting men are married and there are three children per family:

Wives

Children

Total in Wilderness

This is larger than the St. Louis Metro Region population for the year 2,000 by more than 500,000.

The percent of married men, wives and children are hypothetical but by any measurement we are talking about a substantial number of people.

Imagine what it would take to have this crowd move just one foot in any direction.

Numbers chapters 2 and 3 give this information.
