I spent years trying to determine God's will for my life.  I read books, and there are many.  I listened to tapes.   Heard sermons.   Talked to others.  Nothing helped me.  Until.  One day I was having a devotional and I read Proverbs 16:9 which says "In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps".  This excited me!  I realized God was giving me the freedom to plan.  So I started planning.  I began to realize if my plan didn't go exactly the way I planned it, it just might be God directing my steps.

Then I read Proverbs 19:21 which says "Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails".  It all came together.  I plan, God directs my steps, I have plans, His purpose prevails.  I call this my sandwich.  Two slices of God's Bread and I'm in the middle.  God doesn't make anything as complex as I try to make it.
