I keep a journal of many of my conversations with God. I started this in March 2004. When I discover something I usually say "I wish I had done this years ago" but I now know everything is in God's timing. I love the statement "when the student is ready, the teacher will appear". I don’t write in my journal every day and not all of my writing is done in my journal. Where I write isn’t important. Writing is, however, my most effective way of communicating with God.
Some of what I am going to share with you are things I have written verbatim from a very small portion of these conversations. Others are experiences I have had when God has taught me living lessons. Some are things I have read and they’ve stuck with me.
I believe all of us are in some form of recovery. None of us were raised by perfect parents, taught by perfect teachers, or attended perfect churches. I hope what I’ve placed here will be of some benefit to you and I pray your journey in recovery is as rewarding as mine has been.
You may wonder why I've listed my experience like I have below. It symbolizes my life. Better described by this old Portuguese proverb--"God writes straight with crooked lines."
