Many people do not have a personal faith.  Their beliefs come from their parents, grandparents, ministers, significant others, and others of influence.    This means their faith is borrowed.   The problem with this is there is no foundation for their belief, other than that person, so if it is questioned confusion arises and they can be easily swayed from one belief to another.  It is one thing to know what you believe and it is something entirely different to know why you believe it.

Do I have a personal belief?

If I do have a personal belief, can I put it into words?  What is the basis of my personal belief?   Can I explain to myself?

If I do not have a personal belief, do I want one?

Do I believe in a Higher Power?   If I do, can I describe him, her, it?   How did I come to this belief?  Is this my personal understanding from my own research?

Do I believe in God?   If I do, why do I?   If I don't, why don't I?  What is my support for either choice?   You must be totally honest with yourself or all of your answers will be based on something other than the truth.

Do I believe there is a life after death?   If I do, where do I believe I will go?   Why?

Does my destination depend on my performance?  How dependent am I on my performance?   If I am dependent on my performance, have I performed well enough?  Is there even a way to measure my performance?  If so, what is it?  How can I know where I am in my performance measurement.

Do I believe God or my Higher Power cares enough to help me recover?  Why do I or Why don't I believe this?

More than anything else, what do I want God or my Higher Power to do for me?

This site is based on a Christian belief.   The following questions come from that perspective.   Every person has a free will given to them by God.   This means each person is free to choose what they believe as far as God is concerned.   There are societies, however, that do not allow a person to exercise this freedom.

Have I heard of Jesus Christ? (other than a swear word!)

What have I heard about Jesus Christ?

Who do I believe Jesus Christ to be?

Is this my personal understanding from my own research?

Do I own a Bible?

Have I read Jesus's teachings in the 2nd half of the Bible which is called the New Testament? If so, what did I read that told me the most about Him?

Do I know that I can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?

If no, would I like to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?

If no, would I like to have more information about having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?

If yes, have I made a personal commitment to Him?

When?

At what age?

Can I give the details of how it happened?

If I have made a personal commitment to Jesus, do I see evidence in my daily life that my faith and commitment to Him has grown?

Why or why not?

Have I learned through this relationship that I do not need to perform for His acceptance nor is my destination determined by it?   If not, am I willing to learn?

I am being honest with myself.
